About the Founder
Hi, I'm Twi McCallum, a Baltimore-raised former artist turned arts administrator.
I graduated from Forest Park High School in 2014βwow, time flies! My introduction to the arts began in high school through the Aquarium's Aquarium on Wheels program, an afterschool work-study experience combining environmental science, STEM, and creativity. We even wrote and performed a musical about ocean conservation at various Enoch Pratt Free Library locations throughout the summer.
After high school, I joined the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance's Urban Arts Leadership program, which placed me in the community engagement department at Everyman Theatre. Following challenging starts in college, I moved to NYC to work as a stagehand. Through hard work, prayer, and a few fairytales, I enjoyed a rewarding career in sound design across regional theater, off-Broadway, Broadway, audiobooks, podcasts, commercials, and television. I also completed Yale School of Drama's one-year technical theater/sound certificate program. The pinnacle of my career included full-time job offers from Marvel and Pixar, inspiring me to transition into arts administration.
In 2022, I returned to Baltimore and spent three years with the Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts (BOPA). It was a privilege to steward over $500k annually in grants, manage the Art@Work program for teens, and introduce new workforce development initiatives.
Now, I'm embracing my founder phase, experimenting with and launching programs to support my community, including Baltimore U.S.A.
